Auction I found for a 1987 (mark 1) Uno Turbo, but the bumpers don't look quite right, and my friend suggested that they are mark 2 bumpers. It would seem logical - but is it true. If it is I'd rather put mark 2 bumpers on, mainly because the rear one looks so much nicer!

Heres a picture or 2 :)

thats a mk1 uno turbo with mk2 uno turbo front and rear bumpers. it also has the mk2 turbo side skirts. they are a straight swap if i remember correctly. well the rear is deffinatly.

Goodie!!! I want a Mk2 Bumper cause it comes down lower, looks better and has the exhaust cutout :)

ah it was frosty who did the change over wasnt it?might have been for the lights he did the wing swap

Fro$ty has a mk2, and fitted a Hormann kit from a mk1 including mk1 front wings because the kit was already bonded onto it. That's why he had problems with headlights. Last thing I heard was that he managed to get the Hormann kit off the mk1 wings and fitted them onto mk2 wings. Problem now is that the Hormann mk1 front bumper doesn't quite fit!

I'm pretty sure it's all being sorted as we speak and Fro$ty will update us on what was required to get it all fitted.

Should look good when it's done (y)

Only problem with the rear bumper is the slit for the tow hook, the mk1 does not have the tow hook there. Its minor but once you notice it starts to look weird.

As far as being interchangeable yes you can fit a mark 2 rear bumper onto a mark 1 and vice versa. But the same cannot be said for the front bumper namely because the mark 1 has a far more boxier shape and therefore the bumper will not slide into the grooves of the front wings on a mark 2. Unless the bumper is cut and made slightly smaller but i wouldnt bother doing that as a bumper should be strong and not fragile. I had this problem with my mark 1 hormann front bumper so rather than cut it and make it smaller i have used a standard mark 2 uno turbo bumper instead as it fits perfectly and is as strong as it needs to be. I modified it slightly by making a large cut out for my future big mouth intercooler and flushed out the strips to give it a smoother look. Finally finished it off by adding a Golf VR6 spltter onto it.
It surprisingly turned out pretty good too :D
