hello everyone.. can you help?

i was driving my marea weekend 1.6 16v r plate, when it suddenly died.

got it home and noticed there was a no prime noise from the fuel pump when first tuning the key once...got to the fuel pump and tested the 2 leads with a volt meter. the small lead to the fuel gauge was ok but there was no reading on the 'live' or main lead..I then tested the pump using a 12v battery to turn the pump over and it did. at the same time trying to start the car but nothing..the starter motor turns over and there is plenty of life in the battery and i have reset the cut off switch under the seat but still nowt..still with me?.. SO, is it a relay or fuse that has gone and where are they ? (the relay). or am i barkin up the wrong tree??

please help you lot..i use this car for work, have 2 kids and a wife to support and i need it for work...i have plenty of razor blades too but lets not go there...heh heh:bang:

cheers guys.

soted it! if anyone else has problems, check the fuses that in a box bolted to the side of the battery tray...thats were the relay/fuse are located..
:)

I have a similar problem with Marea 155 20V

Engine turning okay won't catch

Checked pump and turns over okay though doesn't seem to pump when trying to start.
Pressed Cut off switch - still no change
Located Fuse box attached to the battery shelf in the engine compartment all seemed quite corroded cleaned all contacts

2 x Blue 15A fuses
2 x Red 20A fuses
2 x Black 20A fuses
1 x Black Relay ? - contacts for this one seemed okay

Not sure which is which

Car starts momentarily than dies, I guess this because the pump isn't feeding engine with fuel

(also noticed light on dash wand with spray staying illuminated ?)

Can anyone help with this one?

Thanks in advance:worship:

That light my friend is an injector, and it means your engine management light has come on. An error has been found within the engine and an error code has been stored in the ECU. A diagnostic will find what error code it is and help you solve your problem. Sometimes the light can be triggered when you disconnect something and try and start the car. If the light has come on, on its own accord then your safe to pay a few quid and get the code read. Fiat will charge loads of money for this service, automotive electricians and diagnostic repairs will charge around £20. Make sure you get a printout of the error code.

Can anyone tell where to find the relay that controls the fuel pump - have cleaned all the fuses etc. Car still turns over and starts momentarily but then dies as the pump is not pumping the fuel.

Any suggestions welcome.
