I have just had the proverbial back box replaced and the brakes are binding. The handbrake is also tight. The fitter said the mechanic said that they unclipped the brake cable to fit the new exhaust and when they clipped it back the brakes felt tight...what an understatement.... almost fully on !
Any help/ideas/comments would be gratefully received..

Thanks :)

Just take it back to the exhaust centre and tell them to sort it out. Most of them also do other repairs like brakes, suspension etc so they should be able to sort it (I know cos I manage one of them). If new parts are required and they suggest you pay for them tell them to sod off! You are entitled to get your car back with all the bits working the same as before (except for the back box which will hopefully work better). If they give you any problems ask for their head office number and complain to them make sure you get the words 'trading standards' in there somewhere. Good luck.

Problem solved ! I dont know what it was but the brakes have freed themselves. It was the handbrake cable so I suppose its possible that it had pulled the brake on and going out tonight has made it free itself.

I did return to the exhaust centre and point it out , 5 minutes after I left, but the manager just said " the fitter said it was stiff" He didnt tell me until I returned ! I wonder why he didnt say so after the exhaust was fitted ?

Hey ho , alls well that ends well. Thanks for the replies chaps.:)
