For a while now the trip meter on my 1998/R Marea TD100 has behaved oddly whenever I have zeroed it, in that it has then sat at zero for some time before starting to count again. This is mainly annoying because it also locks out the display for use by e.g. the temperature external display. It has however now got to the stage where it spends most of its time reading zero and just occasionally consents to start counting trip miles (the odometer continues to work fine, only the trip meter is affected). When driving it will now suddenly reset itself to zero for no obvious reason, then just sit at that for some time.
On start-up this same area in the instrument cluster displays two rows of FFFF, followed a second later by two rows of backwards LLL.
Has anybody encountered any of these problems before? My first thoughts are faulty trip-reset switch, faulty control unit, faulty instrument cluster?
Does anybody have a wiring disgram that covers this?
