Technical marea timing

Hello ff, my r reg,2.0 20v weekend idles at around 600rpm , i know its supposed to be idle-ing higher is their any way i can adjust it so its running properly or is it a dealers only task , would this also be effecting my mpg and water temp pls ? any help is much appriceiated.

What speed would you like it to idle at ?

the idle is ECU controlled, it can be adjusted by fitting a new chip but the standard chip should be 750 ~50rpm from memory, so your not far off.

my car is live mapped and on the tacho it looks like it idles about 600rpm.

are you having any specific issues with the idle/running? any reason to be concerned about the low idle?

thanks Ry, mine also idles between 550 and 600 rpm. I thought from the post mine was wrong too.

Just in general Ry , On ff previously iv seen others idle at 750ish , iv also had it with other cars iv owned that the idle/timing effects the mpg, temp , general running ,just wondered if mine was on parr or id need it re-tuning/remapping ???
