Hi everybody
I've a quick question. My '99 Marea (I bought her 4 months ago, second hand) overheated an couple of days ago and AA very kindly brought her to a garage. She was left there waiting for the holiday season to end, and yesterday when the garage opened again, the mechanic rung me and said that he couldn't start the engine. There's spark in the plugs and there seems to be enough fuel in the tank but she doesn't feel like starting. In order to find out more about the overheating problem we need to get her started... Any ideas? Are these cars fitted with immobilisers?

Is it turning over? Is there fuel being injected? Is there compression?

Crank position sensors seem to be very suseptible to heat so maybe its that?

Ok they're the basics.. When you say overheated in what way? Was it out of coolant? Was the fan working? Has the thermostat seized? Has it blown the head gasket?
