hi,
i have a 1997 fiat marea 2litre 20v hlx,it is misfiring, does anyone know what could be the problem and how to fix the problem, one of the coils was broke,so i changed it and also changed the sparkplugs and put a petrol ijector cleaner in the fuel, but still no joy.please help!!!:)

The only time a car has misfired for me was when it had a knackered head gasket. I hope I'm wrong.

get a diagnostic first, its most likely to be a sensor fault. we could guess all day, but without something to go on you'll be taking a stab in the dark.

When i had a mystery misfire on my BX (years ago) i got one of theose mobile tuning franchises out to it. It was a crack in the ignition module, but you had to unbolt it to find it and it was intermittent. So money well spent.

thanks for all your answers, all the ignition coils are working checked for sparks today,i only replaced the plugs about 1 month ago and there all black with carbon already!!!any ideas:)

overfueling or weak ignition. since you have seperate coils, and all plugs were black, it is far more likely that you have overfueling.

as i said before, get a diagnostic done, it sounds like a sensor fault (we can now assume a sensor related to fueling is most likely)
