Technical Marea JTD 130 Sensor Question

I'm just in the middle of replacing the MAF and cleaning the EGR valve on my 1999 Marea JTD 130. About half way between the MAF and airbox on the rubber intake tube is a 2 pin multiplug connector but it has nothing connected to it. After removing the rubber intake tube it looks like a air temp sensor.

Could somebody else with a JTD 130 have a look at their engine to see if this sensor is connected up on theirs.

This is exactly the same on my JTD130. I have searched for a stray plug on the loom in that area without success. I can only assume that it left the factory like that.
