The heater matrix has started leaking, it sends steamy water into the cabin, and i have to switch off the heater so i can drive it, which is not very nice in this weather.i have been looking in the car, and it looks very difficult to get at. Can anyone tell me if you have to take out the dash to get to it?. If so, has anyone done this, to give me any advice. Any help at all would be very much appreciated. Thanks. pete.

Well, on a left hand drive, it is behind the glove compartment, and on a right hand drive, I am afraid you have to pull the dash out (I am not really sure, do a search, I saw this question before)

Thanks for the reply, i did it on monday, and what a pig. It was the full dash out, and various other things, and it was still hard to get at. The problem was it has a cover over the pipes, and the screws are obscured by various other parts, which makes it very uncomfortable to work on. You can't release the heater box without letting go of the air con pipes on the engine side of the bulkhesd, which is very hard to get at.Anyway, it's done, and touch wood everything seems fine.

replacing the heater matrix is one of those horrible jobs you only do on your own car, and no one elses, even if they pay you good money. well done for persisting (y) most people give up.

I had no choice, it was either change the matrix, or scrap the car. As the car is fine apart from that, i had to do it, and as you say, no body wants to do it for you.
