I have had the PROBLEM boot handle stuck in open pos'n but wont open , using a light tension spring with hooks on each end now operates fine. Liberally coat all mechanism in oil/grease. Job took about 20 mins.. See pics.

Thanks seen various solutions all time consuming/expensive looked as if this would work and tried it, best of luck

Brilliant!

Up to now, I had a pliers in the boot to manually pull the handle before reshutting for the last 9 months. I now have a 20 min date with my car.

Thanks,

Joe

I've had the same problem. I make sure that I close the boot gently but with a thud. If the central locking is not used to 'unlock' the boot and the key is used it can cause it to jam. I've had to crawl in the back on a number of occassions and manually open it.

Where is the best place to long for a spring like that ?
It's a very simple solution (y).
Good posting tturnbull50.

I simply drilled a small hole and put a screw in, now when mine does it I just pull the screw.:p
