Technical Marea bits..........a little help?

Hi All

Hope someone might be able to solve a mystery for me!

I took my marea for mot and it failed on a few items.

To save money on main dealer parts prices I went on 'The parts gateway' website, typed in the reg no, and it identified the car as a '99 Marea 1.8ELX saloon.

Got a load of bits turned up - but the garage called me yesterday to say a couple of the bits are completely wrong!

Before I shout at the dealers who sent them to me, or in case I decide to sell them on ebay rather than suffer the courier charges to return them, I was wondering if anyone could help identify what the parts are? And has anyone else had the same problem?

I got an o/s/f wishbone on the casting of which is the number 401D. It's about half an inch shy of meeting up with the ball joint.

Also got two rear-spring bump stops. On the bump stops is the number A280 and the number on the packet is 0046416470. The garage says these won't fit at all.:bang:

I've had to get the garage to get the right bits to repair the car today - money I can't really afford right now

Can anyone shed light on what these parts actually do fit on?

cant help you with the parts numbers only to tell you it shouldnt have failed due to the bumpstops youl find they wont last very long

Yes i bought them on the say so of the village garage who checked it over prior to the mot.
Then the guy at the test station looked at me like I was daft and said it wasn't a failure item
Naturally, when it came to getting the repair work done for the re-test I didn't take it back to that original garage!!!

i bet the short wishbone will be from a brava or bravo (non-hgt).

401D doesnt help in any of my parts catalogues.
