My 20v Weekend estate came with a red master key, a blue key & a remote key fob which I don't bother using. If the battery goes flat or is disconnected, I cannot start the car. The alarm goes off & the immobilser is activated. If I then lock & unlock the car with the remote everything goes back to normal & I can forget about the remote for a while.....but, what happens if it breaks? Is there an overide? There are no switches & leds on the sunroof controls as mentioned in other alarm threads. Could I get another remote so I have a spare? Better yet, could the alarm/immobiiser be disconnected/removed/disabled ?

Many thanks, Ian

Thanks Dave, I've checked this & can't find one. According to the handbook with the car, I should have a key with remote buttons, a couple of programming buttons near the sunroof controls & an emergency key to operate a key switch in the fuse box. I have none of these; my remote is a key fob - it says Fiat on it so it's original. Maybe I should contact a Fiat dealer to see if I can get another remote.

If it's any help, mine doesn't have the alarm isolator key either. My main blue key has a button on the side and a red light in it, I assumed this was the standard built in Fiat kit.
There are two tiny holes in the sunroof surround next to the ultrasonic detectors on mine, which I now know to be the alarm programming light and button.

Perhaps your alarm is a Fiat dealer fit one?

Maybe......There are a couple of detectors on the A pillars, possibly motion detectors, that look added on, but 'cos the keyfob has the Fiat logo on it & there are Fiat alarm stickers on the windows, I thought it was original. What worries me is that if the battery is disconnected or goes flat, I will need to reset the system with the remote to clear the alarm & immobiliser, and I'll be stuffed if it doesn't work. This happened on my previous Rover, which sets the immobiliser everytime the ignition is turned off. One day my only working keyfob didn't work & I was off the road for a month 'till I found a company who could programme a new keyfob when I sent them the complete Lucas unit from under the dash.
