General marea 2,4TD power lag

Hi my car losers speed at times going up hills somtimes with very small inclines. In 5th the car will not respond and slowly the revs and speed slowly fall back. I change gear but the same happens. does anyone have any ideas??

if it drives fine when turbo is on boost its the e.g.r valve give a lot of trouble on the 2.4 engines in the marea,croma and alfa 156&166 the best way to check this is to block the e.g.r at the throttle body using a piece of tin or light gauge steel make a solid gasket and fit it
