Marea 2.4 diesel; aircon problems

Hi there, this is my first time on the forum so hello everybody.
I have a 2.4 marea diesel, which i just love, unfortunately my aircon compressor has seized and needs replacing. Also, because we dont know why it seized i have been advised to change the receiver dryer and the expansion valve aswell. Does anybody know where i can get these parts for a reasonable price? Just been quoted astronomical prices from my local garage.

based in oxfordshire, not tried a scrappy yet but they tend to have few marea parts available. Dale

I see, just checking the location thing for two reasons: -

1. Didn't think you got the 2.4 Marea over here.

2. Someone around your area may be able to help.

must admit i haven't seen many other 2.4s, so maybe few and far between.

If you're in the South, VehVac of Edenbridge are definitely the right people.

They can supply the bits, or fix it themselves.

Im told that aircon is very straightforward (not that I've ever touched it myself!) & just bolt together bits. You probably siezed due to running out/low of refrigerant due to a leak.

Pumps are now cheaper than they used to be because there are now so many more cars using them.

VehVac are not the average "Fred in a Shed", they are experts & enthusiasts.
