General Marea 1.8 petrol flat spot

Hi,
I have a Marea 1.8 petrol that has a flat spot at low revs, it drives well otherwise round town and accelerates well up the motorway.
The flat spot during motorway driving appears when in 5th gear at around 56 MPH then disappears.
The flat spot isn't that bad that it sounds like the car is going to cut out, it just spoils a good ride.
I thought it could be an injector but at time of posting I have not yet lifted the bonnet or fetched the tools from the shed.

what is the RPM when it occurs?

the car's power to weight ratio isnt great so i would not expect to feel much pull below 3000rpm in 5th.

servicables like plugs and air filter are always possibilities.

The 1.8 does not screech away at 2000 rpm, but it does pull solidly and smoothly when you ask it to, rather more than you would expect from that displacement in a car that weighs that much. I would try a new plugs and filters plus a can of injector cleaner in the fuel. When you change the plugs it's amazing how much more lively the car feels.
