MAF issues

As above issue with MAF on 155 HGT,mine died the other day and i had to use a maf off a BMW to get me home which would stutter over 4k revs..

I have since bought one of Ebay and the guy said it was working fine, i can start the car it idles very laboured and when i try to rev the engine it splutters to a halt, take the MAF off and the engine revs fine...Should io do an ECU reset?

Where do i stand on the Ebay item if i find it to not be working can i challenge him for a refund.

I've not heard anything good about MAF's from ebay, new or second hand. Buy an OE one from shop4parts or similar and, assuming the problem is the MAF, all should be well.

Does appear to be the Ebay MAF that is the problem will not allow the car to rev at all takes ages to build revs upto 2k and then dies, without MAF plugged in it revs fine...

Found a MAF on a JTD 130 in scrapyard and this works fine, although it is not a bosch i just dont have the £80 to buy one off shop4parts right now so i hope this one holds out till end of the month.

awww, sorry to hear that dude!

hope you give the seller some feedback and get your money back, I know it was cheap but if it says its working then it should be, if he says it's damaged in the post it should have insuurance on it.

Glad you got a maf now, I know £80 is expensive but when I was looking it was cheaper than £210!

p.s. did you see what i ment by the little plastic notch on the pipe not lining up?

Yea it just a little grove for the rubber hose to fit flush not really needed though, i have contacted the seller and he is happy to refund so all is well....
