 (1)I have a fiat Maera 1999 in damp weather the didgets on the milometer disappear and then come and go. (2) then when the weather drops to 2 or 3 degrees the indicatigs dont work until i have been driving for 10 or 15 miles. have I got Gremlins or what? Any Ideas?

my money is on dry(ish) joint on PCB of instrument panel. damp weather is usually cooler, which means metal contracts causing worse connection.

Like contract killings? ;)

For the mileage display you could try removing the binacle and reseating the connectors. Does the car feel damp or is it just when its damp outside? If it's dry in the car then its probably the temp rather than the dampness.
