Discovered yesterday my mot was like a month outta date! silly me,
Popped round to the M.O.T centre today and waited while the motor had a test.................................................................

Nothing at all wrong apart from a slightly worn shock!
I was amazed, thats never happened to me, i don't have good luck!
If anyone is selling a resonably new rear nearside shock, let me know!

Mate try www.buypartsby.co.uk for some shockers, they're about £7 plus VAT each. Its important you change both shockers when you come to replace them.

I took my barchetta in for its MOT today - and it passed first time, just with a few suggestions - back box (yippeee excuse for a supersprint one) front discs a bit corroded (yippee our drilled and grooved ones) and some brake hoses (yippee braided ones here we come)
But the MOT was passed first time :)

Buying a barchetta

Nigel,

Any advice on buying a barchetta, as my brother in-law is looking for one, test drove a right hand drive conversion over the weekend but found it uncomfortable.

The steering wheel couldn't be adjusted and being a tall chap it wasn't in a good position and found changing gear difficult. I'm not sure if this was down to the conversion or just dodgy car. What should I look out for?

Re: Buying a barchetta

Out of curiosity, since this car was purely a left hand drive, how the hell did they manage to get a dashboard console for the steering on the right hand side, since it means the dash is back to front? So did Fiat make the RHD or is this a dash from another vehicle?

Re: Buying a barchetta

They made a RHD mould for the conversion. One came up on ebay a few months ago, I coulnd't be arsed to go and pick it up from Kent so I only bid a £1 - it went for £10!
I can't see someone tall being able to get comfortable in a barch though, and getting in and out with the roof on is hard enough for me and I am only 5' 7"
Keep them LHD - its keeps the riff raff from driving them :)
