Just got a 03 115 jtd elx ugly bug there about a week ago.
Camber on the rear wheels appear Pretty ok( they do lean in slightly I think)
Anyway there is a lump if rubber floating inside one of the springs.
Should I be alarmed?
Cheers
Marty.

Suchs lumps were there for many years in my Marea weekend 2.4 JTD, did not experience any disadvantage or problem. (never removed or replaced them)

Yeah when I was searching for my multi one in particular had really bad camber angle on one if the back wheels which made me stick my head underneath... It too had a floater!!!

Out of curiosity what bushings is suspect if the rear wheels are pointing inwards a bit??... And would it effect MPG much???
Cheers
Marty.

Sounds like the bump stop inside the spring has fallen down. Nothing to worry about, when it's still in there. I would change it the next time I have the rear springs off.

Negative camber on the rear wheels is caused by worn bushes in the trailing arm. You could change just the bushes, or the entire trailing arm. Not a very big deal, and it happens to every Multi. It's just one more thing that needs to be done. ;) Can't imagine it affects MPG, but it makes handling very interesting when driving on the limit. I experienced that last winter, and had a lot of fun. She get's very tailhappy!

You will know when the rear arms need new bushes. If it looks ok now, don't worry.

Cheers unclechuchu.
There's brand new tyres on it and I don't want to have them wearing unnecessarily. Would you have a link for the bushes and of I can get them handy I'll swap them out. I'm always looking for an excuse to get the hands covered in muck!!!
Cheers
Marty.

I would get them from Shop4parts. Here you find both new arms, or new bushes if you like to just change those. I have good experience with these guys, and will definitely buy from them again.

For a how-to guide on the job, check out this great site.

A Multipla is the perfect excuse to get your hands covered in muck! :D

Cheers for that. Yeah I might just get a set as they look ever so slightly leaning inwards.
Looked on eBay and other online motor factors and ther appears to be two different types in offer
One with a traditional sealed bearing and the other with an exposed race and cage type bearing

See the pics in these 2 eBay listings

Is there a preferred kit??

Happy to help. :)

But I can't help you with your last question, as I didn't change the bushes. I replaced the complete trailing arms on my Multi.
