Hi Guys,

Any idea where I can purchase some -40mm lowering springs for a 2003 multipla?

I've found Cobra and Pi springs but they only lower by 30mm and there appears to be a big gap in the arches!!!

I've read that Eibach springs lower by 40mm but I can't find any online and I'm not going to pay dealer prices!!!!

Thanks in advance

Scotty:D

I think Novitec do some but unsure on hight tbh, you selling the 30mm ones?:)

I havent bought any -30mm springs, I was just commenting on how much gap there is in the arches!!!

Any other ideas as to where I can find some -40mm springs?

I've bit the bullet and bought some -30mm springs as couldn't find the 40mm springs anywhere!!

Any advice regarding fitment, do I need any special tools or will a socket set and spring compressors suffice?

cannot see why not but suspect your the only one on here even debating springs so answers may not be of much use.

i know it's an old post but did you fit lowering springs in the end?

I'm looking for same and cobra/PI are the only ones available - i'm not sure about the Cobra ones, eg the fronts...
Standard springs - 4.22 coils, 13.6mm wire, 444mm released length
Cobra springs - 5 coils, thicker wire, 360mm released length

I fitted TA-Technix springs to my 03 Multipla last weekend. I was looking for the Eibach springs, but as I couldn't find any I bought the TA-Technix. So far I'm positively surprised. They are a bit stiffer than original, but not that much. The car sits better though the corners, but is still comfortable enough. Curious on how it behaves with 6 people in it on these springs.

The original springs are extremely long when fully released. I can't see why, as that means they are compressed a lot when mounted on the damper. Maybe this could be one of the reasons for the front springs failing so often. They are so long that I had issues with the spring compressors - they didn't release enough. So I wouldn't be to concerned about the difference in length on the original springs vs lowering springs. If you're interested I could post some pictures of my Multi, so you see how it looks on TA-Technix springs and 17".

They are long, even with 4 compressors doing the job it was not easy. yes I'd like to see pics on lowered 17"

Pix? yes please...

I went for 205x55's on 16" alloys:

so I can't go too low...30mm is about as much as I want.

Can't find these springs on UK site - did you get them from Germany? Do they sit ok with standard dampers or did you get shorter ones as well?

A couple of pics from today:

I'm running 205/45.17, the original dimension on 17's. I'm using standard shocks, doesn't seem to be an issue. The height difference isn't that much, it's just enough. :)

Great pictures and of course Multipla!!:worship:

What are those alu wheels (brand..)?

Thanks for the kind words. :)

They are Compomotive TH2, 7,5x17. Same as on Delta Integrale Evo. Or, it's the same as most people run on their Evo's, as the original are magnesium Speedline Montecarlo. 500-600£ is a bit much for one wheel. ;)

Very very nice!

IMHO probably a little too low-pro for our sh*ite Uk roads, so I went for 205x55 R16"s...ended up with Fox alloys:

...but seeing how these Compotive's look on your Multi, and they come in size 7"x16" (correct offset, I presume), perhaps I should have done some more window shopping!

Incidentally, my speedo was always on the optimistic side. But with the new wheels & tyre combo the rolling radius is a little bit more than standard, and now my speedo is spot on (quite handy because, since my JTD motor has been Angel Tune'd to 155bhp it is a little more well, eager).
