Technical Lowering kits

Hi

Can anyone recommend a lowering suspension kit? I want the wheel arches lowered so that there is less gap between them and the tyre. I've found a kit for models in between 1972-1982 but nothing afterwards (jamex J120363).

Was there some sort of fundamental change in the suspension setup after this point and is it unwise to use the kit I referred to on a 1988 model?

Or does anyone have a better alternative to achieve the same effect?

Hi

I Saw On Ebay A Koni Lowering Kit For An X1/9. It Said It Will Drop It 40mm. And That Was On A 1984 X1/9. Sold For Nothing Aswell If I Remember. Something Like £40. Wish I Brought Them Now.


But You Could Always Chop The Springs lol

Hi I have an 86 X and it has the jamex installed.

It was done before I got it tho so I cant comment on it's installation

Koni suspension.
Bought set of 4 barely used shocks 2 years ago for something like 700 GBP. May be it wasnt 700, dont remember for sure actually

But it really lowered the car, check the photo.

Cheers guys. i think i will go for the jamex kit as it seems to be the cheaper option and i'm not keen on chopping up the suspension to lower it but thanks for the suggestion brae - liked the paint job by the way - just had mine done in Mica red and it looks mint.

Let us know if you find the Jamex springs anywhere - I tried ordering from a couple of places in the UK and although their websites listed them they actually didn't have any in stock.

Still keen to find them though.

SpiritX: could you give some more information on what parts you have exactly please?

I am wanting to lower my X about the same amount as is in your photo.

All I did is changed shocks to adjustable Koni with (as from result) lowering sports springs.

I found a very good offer on ebay, these were nearly new, wround 200km mileage.

I have no idea about model and specification but I dont think there are many of them for an X1/9.
