Just wondering if anyone can help, I'm getting a single loud clunk when braking, not when pedal is first pressed but just before the car comes to a stop

Hi, yeah I had new discs and pads all round about a month ago, at a local garage
This reply is a few months late but just check how the rear brake pad was installed; it has a knob on the back that is supposed to slot into one of two cutouts on the brake caliper side but sometimes it gets installed in such a way that the knob pushes up against the caliper itself. What then happens is, when you brake, the caliper pushes up against the knob on the pad which makes it lever up against the brake disc, especially as the pad starts to wear out unevenly. You may have to find out where the sound comes from, I'm guessing it will be from one of the rear pads if this really is the issue.

Warning, if you are going to replace your own pads, make sure to read up on how to wind the piston back up on the rear brakes. There is a thread on the forum that explains that you need to push the piston in while twisting (anti-clockwise on one side and clockwise on the other side)

The cutouts in the piston I spoke of earlier help slot into a tool that the Fiat garages use to wind the piston back up but you may have to get creative if doing it yourself.
