General Lost something down dash vent

Hello

I had a pay and display ticket on my dashboard and when i opened the door it blew away. It must have slipped down back of dash (between dash and windscreen). Then whilst driving i saw the reflection of it at the top of the that long vent. I put on blowers but now i can't see it. Can i get it back? Would it have worked its way to the pollen filter?

Had the same with mine several years ago, put the parking receipt on top of the dashboard, but when I shut the door it blew down the gap between the windscreen and the dashboard. Later, I tried getting it out but couldn't see it.

A few years later I needed a new windscreen, so thought while the old screen was out I'd retrieve the ticket. With the windscreen out there was a large gap at the front of the dashboard, but I still couldn't see the ticket. I guess it will still be there once the car's been crushed into a 2 foot cube.

Ever since then I've kept a small blob of blue-tack in the car to stick parking tickets to the top of the dashboard.

Would it do any harm, block anything? Is it possible it could work its way out somewhere?

From memory, I removed the air vent and used some macguyver style tatics! A nail file and an Elastoplast to make a sticky ended stick in order to retrieve my all day parking ticket. I really didn't fancy paying another £4.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who's fallen foul of this.

Mmmm, i'm not sure where it went now! It wasn't the corner of the ticket that i saw in the reflection. It was one of the vertical slats in the vent, it was how the light was shining on it! It could have fluttered out the window or gone down between dash and windscreen.

How far down does the gap between windscreen and dash go? I was wondering if a hoover would suck it out.

As I remember, its about another 4 inches of space below the dashboard to where my ticket finally landed.
