Hi all, badly in need of your help and expertise. I`m heading to Poland in my 2.2 JTD Ulysse in 2 weeks, and car has been driving superbly. However, in preparation for the trip, I left it in with my local mechanic to change the oil, fuel and air filter, plus new fully synthetic oil. Ever since, about a week ago, when I start off its dead, and I mean dead, but sometimes after about 1/2 mins, when I hit 2000 revs in 3rd gear, it`ll take off, and behave normally. But should I stop and park for only 10 mins, it does it again. Sometimes on a short trip, it stays dead all the time. No lights or messages on screen, tried disconnecting air flow meter, but no difference, just brings up de-polution message, which clears when i reconnect it and open/close fuel filler cap. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. cheers, Brian.

I had the same on my 2.0JTD, I replaced the air flow meter and that cured it, exactly the same symptoms, got a cheapie from ebay about £35. Hope this helps, Tony

Cheers Tony, seen those, are £35 including postage, at that kind of money its worth a gamble, can see visions of me stuck in Poland shelling out hundreds or thousands of Zlotys! I`ll let you know how I get on, thanks again.

Well, replaced airflow meter, ordered it Friday on ebay, £35, delivered Saturday. Got it fitted straight away, no difference, except now when in dead mode it throws up message, "particle filter regeneration cycle urgent", then gives a kick and away it goes . Bit the bullet today and took it into Fiat dealer, who hooked it up to diagnostics. Apparently its trying to regenerate itself but is failing to complete due to low or no DPX42 fluid. They have never refilled this system, don`t have either the fluid or filling kit, and suggested I try Citroen dealer. All this info for only £52 fee!! Citroen looking £200 to refill system and reset computer, but I`ve read somewhere that the early models, 2002 2.2 jtd don`t have a sensor just a float switch. Can anyone enlighten me?

Hi, just an update. Got DPX fluid refilled, still in dead mode, cost £320, dealer said particle filter blocked. Friend dropped particle filter and blew it out with steam hose, took it to Poland still not right, hoping the long run might help it. Did over 3000 miles, made it home, with 4 lights on dash, (esp/asr, engine management light, airbag, and passenger airbag switched off fault). Car drove okay on flat, 60/70 mph, but as soon as it came to a hill it died big time, 45 mph. Discovered swirl valve actuator was broken, and got it replaced thinking my problems were solved but to no avail. Can somebody tell me of a programme, or cd i can buy to reset all these lights for a 2003 2.2 diesel Ulysse. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
