Technical loss of power

Hi

I have a 2.0 16v turbo engine over the last 2 days when starting the car up it either cuts out when i go to pull away or when idling. Also when driving the car it has cut out a few times but it mainly seems to loose power in 1st and 2nd gear at low revs the car seems to judder and have no power then the power seems to kick in. When the car has warmed up it seems to still judder when pulling away unless the revs are kept high.

Anyone had similar problems or know what the problem is?

Sounds like MAF sensor to me. its the sensor in your air intake pipeing which measures air going into the inlet.

Its a common problem. Try disconnecting it and take it for a drive. You will get a light on the dash but it should drive better.

thanks i will try that tomo. Also have noticed its misfiring im 90% its the ht leads well fingers crossed

i'm a bit inclined to say split hose or blown off hose, but as Chris has suggested, i still think its something fooling the MAF.....or does the 16vT has a MAP sensor?.....

if i'm not too late in my reply, i think your problem is one of your two coil packs braking down
i've had this on both the 16v turbo one i had and my 20v turbo one recently (only trying to find which one on my 20v was a pain).

also the cutting out when cold on my 16vt one turned out to be the air flow meter all easy to change
