Looking for a decent stereo place in Yorkshire...

Ok, so I've decided to buy this piece of lovelyness....

But my problem is buying/installing it..... I was gunna go down the route of buying it online (found it for about £149-159) and then getting a mate to install it, but as I know I need some kind of ipod lead, and would quite like the thing to make the steering wheel controls work with it - to be honest I don't know what bits I need, and would rather just go to somewhere to buy it and have it fitted.

So, I'm on the look out for a decent stereo place in Yorkshire. I'd look through yellow pages etc, but word-of-mouth is a better advert than anything - hence coming to you guys

Either that, or if anyone can advise me of exactly what leads etc to buy online, and knows somewhere to take it to be fitted, or even anyone on here who is a whizz at audio installs and wouldn't mind helping me out

Anyway - any hints/tips/advice etc greatly received.

If I get a week off work like I've put in for, there may be a trip to Blackpool arranged - could combine it with that if there's somewhere in that direction.

You did, and I went & saw you there!!

Thing is, Source is charging £179.99 for the stereo, plus an hours+ drive to get there. Would happily go back there to buy stereo/leads/fascia etc & to have it fitted if they matched the £149.99 I've found the stereo online for, but they don't wanna know.

Plus, I'd be a bit wary going back there, seeing as last time I smashed my rear end up

So you have seen the stereo, facia and wiring for 150 on the net. If so then the same at £180 isnt all that bad TBH.
So your best bet is to post up which one you want and see if somebody here lives near you and is willing to do it for a pint or something.
I would but im not traveling 600 miles round trip lol

Will any audio place be able to fit it all? Don't want it made a mess of.

hmm.... if fitting is that kinda price, i'm just aswell going back to Source to buy the whole lot plus the fitting..... Was hoping to save some cash though (and really don't wanna drive back round there if I can help it)

I would imagine that £170 from Scource will just be the Head unit, fascia and fitting. But still that isnt bad at all.

Phatt beats don't look much nearer than Source tbh. If they charge less for any of the stuff then it'd certainly be worth going down though.

Source were charging £180 just for the HU last time I checked with em - that's before they added on the fascia, fitting, ipod leads etc.... hence trying to sort it out a cheaper way.

Ideally would be looking for somewhere in Huddersfield/Wakefield/Bradford center/Halifax kinda areas - would prefer to go on a word-of-moth reccomendation, rather than just picking a place out the directory though.

I doubt that Phatt beats will be able to do it much cheaper but may be worth a try. Adrian is pretty well respected in the Car Audio world so he will do a proper job.

Have sent them an email asking what kinda price i'd be looking at for the full thing. Gunna have to decide soon, cos I'm getting fed up of having just the radio for company
