Hey all, been a while since ive been back , not to many exxies kicken around my area, and the other i was looking at was rusted beyond reason, so ive got my eye on another one , its an 85 or 86, needs some work, but overall its in reasonalbe shape, the guy wants 1500 ono, it hasnt been running in about 4 or 5 years untill the fall when me and him through a drop of gas into the intake and fired the car up but couldnt get it to stay gong, fuel pump cuts in, but now theres probally a clogged injector or filter, not a big deal, but i have a couple performance questions about the stock engine, i would like to install a cam, full exhaust and a turbo with about 5-7 psi of boost, now will the stock engine handle that? if not what kind of upgrades am i loooking at to make it possible? a swap is not possible, as fiats are a once in every 5 year spotting sort of deal, if the stock engine isnt worth modifiying, then id consider taking the time to mount a suzuki g10 series engine in there, the 1L 3 cyl engine, they are small, light, and easy to come by, not to mention they can be built to have 150-200hp for relativaly cheap and ease. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Luke, welcome back.

$1500 ONO seems a bit steep, being as I just bought a "daily driver" in Edmonton for $1500. (has a rebuilt engine, 3 new seals in tranny, fresh paint and new front brakes)

Now, that's not to say it isn't a good deal, but if it isn't running, I'm thinking it's a bit high.

I've been reading many posts on here as well as on http://xwebforums.org/ where many folks talk about engine swaps.

Take your time and read through the information before committing.

I don't think I've read anything on putting in a 1Ltr Suzuki engine, but with its small size, it certainly would be feasible.

Good luck, and keep posting.....with pics.:)

(NOTE: Now in Kandahar, Afghanistan, but will be home soon)
