Styling Look at the new GP!

The interior lost the elegant simplicity of the original GP and looks blobby. the main criticism of the current GP's interior was its luck of storage space and as far as I can see that has not been addressed.

As for the exterior...

The classy, understated yet elegant and exquisitively proportioned front end is replaced by a grill that looks like a block of flats somewhere in Peckham, finished in the most boring colour humanity has ever invented: concrete gray. The foglamps are put in the wrong place (they look so 80's) and the other lights (guess they will be on 24-7) remind me of 90's designs. (Peugeot 406 and Rover 75 spring to mind).

Rear lights look up-to-date though, that's just about the only thing I can see it has improved, albeit very slightly.

I'd love to meet the person who signed off this abberation. It is a classic case of how NOT to do it. What a complete and utter f@ck up. Shame, great shame, Fiat let us down massively, I can hardly find the right words to express my disappointment...

Who the hell would approve this s4it? Fiat, we need answers, NOW!

In fact, we should all hope to be able to upgrade the new GP with the old style front bumper and foglamp assembly, now that would be a proper facelift on Fiat's shabby efforts!

There's something fishy going on here. Nobody likes this monstrosity and yet it has seemingly been signed off. I just will not believe that Fiat, which has come so far recently, will now at this desperately significant moment in it's renaissance ruin its most important car. Only last week I was looking at a brand new one on a filling station forecourt and thinking what a perfect design it was. Really stunning, especially next to the Fiestas and whatever else passes for aesthetic competition.

What next, the Bravo?

There is a new Panda coming, and a tiny city car next year. I'm worried.

The new engines had better be brilliant.

OK OK. Perhaps it will look better in the flesh. I'll have a drink and watch some telly now, and try and get over the shock!

What a mess ! the front end looks like the new Mazda Biante with some cheap plastic slapped on the grille. The only thing I like about the interior is the stereo, From the looks of it they have took the Bravo's interior and mixed it with the fiat gp’s interior and managed to make it look really plastic. Also the rear lights look like an after market version of the gp’s light, where a manufacturer has tried to turn them in to ‘Lexus lights’….not chavvy at all…

All in all looks like a mess.:yuck:

I hope this is not the final design. However I do like the idea that they are evolving from the gp, no doubt the gp is gorgeous which is why I bought one lol, however it is time to upgrade.

Maybe being an ugly car is in fashion now, for example the:
New VW Sirocco
New BMW Isetta
New BMW M1 Concept
New Audi R8
New Mazda Taiki Concept

The list could go on

All new or possible new cars which in my opinion are vile.

The more I look at the front the more my sense of disbelief grows. Could this possibly be for the Brazilian market? I sincerely hope Fiat aren't going to unleash this monstrosity onto the European market. I'm so disappointed I could cry. This undoes all the good styling work they've been doing in recent years.

I'll wait to see it in the flesh before I judge it, but for those of you who say you hate it, Fiat have said that they will continue producing the existing Grande Punto alongside the new Punto Evo. (Though apparently they still manufacture the "Punto Classic", but it's clearly not available in this country. I wonder where you can still get it...)

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Joker when discussing the front end of the new Punto. It's hideous.

The interior and rear lights aren't great, but I could live with them.

from the side view it reminds me of a fabia.... loves my car even more now. ford did the same by updating the mondeo and ruining the shape......
