Hello guys and girls long time no see! hope everyone is well and hope the cinqs are going strong!!??, just logged in to see how things are going on here and see if there are still some familiar faces around?... :)

For those of you that don't know my poor little Cinq turbo has been off road over a year :( mainly due to not having the money to keep the little wallet snatcher on the road but it turned out the cinq was alot cheaper to run than my modified 850 T5!! been to long anyway and my withdrawal symptoms have become to much....had to walk past it everyday so its time i put it back on the road to go terrorize the big toys once again :D

Spent my full day today changing oils, battery's and doing to some serious wiring changes!! sadly i sold a few of the goodies from inside such as the Greddy EBC and adjustable FCD so ive had to dig out the old vanaken FCD and its now back on gate pressure of about 9psi (145bhp). Ill be nursing it like this until i get hold of a boost controller then it'll be back upto 15psi once again

took a couple of pics of the old girl today after being dug out and washed :)

any new projects going on????

thanks

Jason :)

Looks mean that!! What engine you have in it? Cracker of a car like

thanks matey (y)

Lots of time and hard work put in a couple of years back when i built the setup its on now.... its a tweaked punto 75 engine running a custom hybrid turbo and water meth with a 5 injector setup. hoping to get it back upto 170bhp soon, lacking a boost controller and dont like using the manual types.

thanks

Jason

Yeah understand that! Think itl b next on my hitlist once the pick up conversion is totally finished tbh

Whats the spec on the pickup?? that looks cool :)

Welcome back, Jason. I've just bought a T5 and an MR2 tub! :D

Hello mate long time no see :) hope your well. You bought a T5!! aahh great which did you go for?? im head over heals for mine i love every second i drive it (played with it alot though ;) ), cost an absolute bomb to run mind you but the sound and aggression is 10000% worth it :)

thanks

Jason

Standard Sei Sporting, bought for £150 needed fuel tank, brake cylinder and 2 rear shockies, so fixed it mechanically and decided to cut the arse off it :)

It's a V70, so no RWD fun. Stock T5 which has been chipped and someone put "R" badges on. It's set up to be very gentle under about 3.5k, then bite your head off -- will spin the tyres in 3rd gear on good tarmac (or put the traction control on just after spinning the wheels.

But I much prefer the MR2 tub for fun -- it's more like a scalpel than an axe!

Good stuff mate! whats the spec on the MR2? i good friend of mine has had one for a couple of months. Ive been Volvo specialist for about four years so it made sense to go down the T5 route one day, i went old school and got hold of a nice 850 T5, lowered it on Titan R wheels, R bumper.....then went straight under the bonnet for fun :) settled for a subtle hybrid, full decat, Rica map, injectors, panel filter and 16psi boost. rolling roaded at 302bhp and 327lb/sf :) bloody evil.

thanks

Jason

The MR2 is just a Rev 1 with a turbo engine bolted in -- I'm still not sure if it has the tub gearbox. It's still on 15" wheels and high profile tyres, and the suspension is well past its sell by date. But I've paid more for Cinqs than this cost!

I've only had it a week. Idea was to pull it to bits to build an MR2 engined Cinq, but I think it may be too good to break. We'll see what the cheap MOT man says tomorrow!

I should have a new, much bigger garage in less than a month (waiting for the lease to be drawn up) so you must point the little black monster up the A57 and come and visit. ;)

I will do indeed mate, ill be looking for excuses to go and stretch the old girls legs again :) dont think you ever went in it at 170bhp did you??

Jason

what you mean its off the road!

Looks like you've still got that pollished rocker head i sold you :)

Yeah sadly the poor little lady has been sleeping for over a year :( blowing off the cobwebs now mind you :) and it is indeed the same rocker, its had a good polish since the pic it had gone a little pitted.

thanks

Sureley time to invest in some new management and throw the old trusty MF2 in closest skip. You can do this for the price of a decent boost controller these days you know... :D

Believe me id love standalone, always wanted it but i just cant justify it these days :( as simple and crude as the MF2 is its done its job very well and achieved fantastic power for me with very little £££ for long mapping sessions etc, which is exactly what i need running 2 other cars so im happy to stick with it :)

I wouldn't mind i nice boost controller to play around at different boost levels though :)

Thanks

Jason

How about something cheaper than an MF2 with adjustable timing, closed loop boost control, launch control duel maps...

Id certainly consider something like that if something at the right price came up yes :) the biggest plus there for me would be doing away with the 5 injectors and just running 4, and having a knock sensor wired upto the ecu for ignition retard on knock.
Considered the Dastek unichip at one time but was quoted 750 for the unit and a further 500 to map it at Noble Motorsport.....(ive always used Nobles for mapping now they now the car well).

shame i cant afford some good internals to go with an ecu because the hybrid i specced up for this engine is capable of pushing a good 190-200bhp @ around 20-22psi out of a 1.25 without pushing the turbo to far.....shame the rest of the car probably couldn't handle it haha.
I actually find myself driving it in low boost more often (9.5psi) it makes around 145bhp at that level and its very nice to drive at that, very fast but not spinning all the time and torque steering etc.

Jason

£140 sound like your budget? Have a look at the ECU master Det 3. Best of all when you initialy hook it up you'll have your original map until you alter it (until you engage FIT). :)

Your car has has always been the original monster around here, your wallet pioneered our later designs. :D

See what Nobles recon to the Polski ECU Master. Very cheap, very tweakeable. Fairly big user base, now.

Yep, you still owe me a test drive! ;)

Haha thankyou.

These both sound appealing.... just looked up the det 3 and it looks perfect!, cheaper than a new mf2!!! im just wondering what the chances are of it being able to run my four injectors piggy backing my spi ecu...?? Already very tempted with this now ive seen it I might have to contact someone to find out more, a friend of mine with a micra turbo is also tempted by the det 3.

Thanks
