Hi ,newbie here, My Panda 2018 4x4, is doing my nut in.
Picked it up today from dealer, and when I switch off the ignition and lock up and walk away, the front lights are coming on.. Using the fob I unlock then re lock.A few seconds later the lights are on again.
Am I missing something or have I inherited a problem car ??
Also if I disconnect the battery overnight, will the ecu play up when I re connect in the morning,, as I cannot stay up all night switching the remote on and off .

The current Panda (post 2012 version) does have ‘follow me’ headlights - that light the way to your house door. But, they don’t come on unless you ‘tell ‘ them too… by pulling the headlight flasher towards you after turning the car off. The first pull sets a 30 second timer, and each subsequent pull adds 30 seconds more, to a max of 2 minutes before the lights turn off. When this function is activated, the digital display in the dash shows “Follow me” and the number of seconds it’s set to. Back to @Rogermeaden’s car - where I assume the headlight control isn’t being pulled on getting out, clearly a bug somewhere. I wonder if the MES software can identify why this is happening? (So far as I know the system can’t be set to always come in automatically)

Cheers for your answers lads, I also noticed that a passenger airbag light is now on, and when I lock it using the fob, the indicators flashes about 9 times, is that a message telling me something is wrong??

Normally the lights flash rapidly a number times if somethings not fully shut when you try to lock it - and it doesn’t actually lock either.
So many ‘random’ things can happen if the car battery is not in tip top health. If this is a used car maybe it’s sat a while with the battery drained? But generally that shows as other ‘wrong’ warnings first - the normal candidates are ‘hill holder not available’ and ESP warnings.
There have been some folk here with airbag and other warnings caused by water damage - either where a car has been damaged by floodwater, or where it’s leaked in via the heater vents (search for ‘blocked duckbills’ for more on this)
