Technical Life Span of a 1.3 MultiJet??

Even with a petrol. I am expecting everything else to break on the Fiat before the engine gives me any grief =)

I am on 145,000 kms on a 2010 1.4 Dualogic.

It's a "how long is a piece of string" question.

Warm it up and cruise steadily at 2000 rpm, 8 hours a day, every day, it'll last forever and a day.

Sling it in a driving instructors car and perhaps it's life might be better measured in days, weeks and months!

I bought a 2004 Fiat Punto 1,3 multi jet from a driving instructor at 3yrs old
85,000 on the clock. Had to replace clutch and front brake pads and discs. I used the car for years always gave 60+ mpg, Gave it to my grandson when he was at university now he wants a Golf! So my daughter has got it. Its now 13 yrs old passed all its MOTs { had to replace e a shock absorber rubber last time !} milage now 135,000. Im sure the engine will do that again no problem. The TRICK Change the OIL every year or 10,000 miles if sooner without fail. Last you a lifetime !!

What have I got now a 2010 Fiat 500 1.2 sport in black. bought 2 years ago just 17,000 on the clock but changed the cam belt and water pump. Servicing is so important if you want a car to last.
Regards
Ian

My 1.3 multijet had done 205000 miles when I sold it still not burning oil but the original chain won't make it to that mileage

i think you really do not need to worried about 1.3 engine life span. if you are avarage good user, with a little care, it is easy to see more than 300000 miles. but in my opinion after 100000 miles better to update engine mounts
