Ooh, good question.. 
It does appear to show a switch..
So - conventionally you would be using the ISO Connectors,
and it would "just work"

I've swapped this radio into a multipla as old radio gave up. Funnily enough the old stereo had 12v battery connection where U (with switch) is, and the ignition switch connection where UB is on new unit.
New stereo works, but only when ignition is on. There is no direct power on from stereo unit itself.
This would go to show that the two units do indeed have opposite terminals as far as ignition and 12V battery are concerned...wouldn't it ?

So it loses memory when key is out / parked..?
Not sure what you mean by loses memory, but it powers off when key removed, and can't be powered on when key is turned off/out.
When ignition turned on, stereo will play last radio station that was previously selected.

He means it will forget stored radio channels, last on volume level etc (and the current playing channel)
So the constant power is switched and the switched power is constant at the moment , I'd suggest swap these two power connections and see how operation changes. (you're not going to break anything, they're both 12v feeds)
Both switched and constant should be supplied from a fused connection obviously.
