Well after countless visits to the dealer the Sunroof leaked during the heavy rain the other day.
Rooflining wet and water pooring all over the instruments.

I'm sick an tired of taking to the dealer who sits on it for a fday or so and then says they have found and fixed something. only for it to leak next time it rains.

I now feel I need to speak to Fiat UK and take it up with them.
Can anyone reccommend the best person to speak to at Fiat to get some action?

Sorry to hear about your sunroof, call Fiat UK on 01753 511431. They will log the problem and give you a reference number. I had a couple of problems with our car and the auto gearbox and I complained thinking nothing would be done, but they sent out a Fiat Factory engineer who fixed the problem in 30 minutes. The guy I got a letter from was Martin Whitlock.

The other option is to speak to the sunroof manufacturer direct and see if they can provide any suggestions. I will see if I can find out the name of the manufacturer for you.

I would also ask them to confirm you won't have a problem later with corrosion of the roof switches etc. Just out of interest are you sure it's not the top of the windscreen, I have heard other people have had problems there. I guess it could run along the roof lining and drip down.

I'm sure it's the sunroof.
When it leaks water runs out of the ceiling pod with the sliding door switches and internal alarm sensors. it then splashes all over the aircon control panel.
Somebody at the dealers said it was a design fault as the front sunroof has no drain fitted unlike the middel and rear roofs. So it has to be a perfecty seal which it obviously isn't.

Yes theres' been a fair amount of water running around inside the roof now on and off and I'm concerned as well about problems later down the line.
 
Spoke to Fiat UK today and they have opened a case for me.
I now await the wise words from Fiat.
 
That's what I suspected and have mentioned to the dealer more than once but they seem to feel a squirt of clear sealer is the answer.
Is it known that the eraly sunroofs had problems?
Are the replacements different in someway to resolve it?

Any other things I should be aware of if I have a very early Ulysse?
(already had a new back axle to resolve (I hope) outer tyre wear)

Did your garage manage to fix the sunroof ? My petrol Ulysse is now going in for the 4th time for this same issue, exactly how you describe in your earlier post.
 
Will be interesting to see how you get on as it looks like im developing the same problem on my 04 Ulysse
 
Hi BMCDIE,
An independent assessor has looked at the situation, courtesy of the garage. I was present when we found a possible leak from one of the screws holding the middle sunroof to the roof. The concentration by the garage (understandbly) has been on the front sunroof up till now. The garage is now taking out all the sunroofs and resealing them with tougher measures, and even swapping them around to see if the problem moves with the sunroof module. Top marks for this approach by the garage, as it appears that Fiat UK after initally helping, left the garage to resolve the issue themselves. Incidentally in the earlier posts, there was a mention that the middle and back sunroofs have some form of drainage channels. On inspection all sunroofs have been built the same and don't appear to have these. I will let you know what happens, after I get the car back , and there has been significant rain!
 
Hi, I had this problem on a 1998 Fiat Ulysee, in heavy rain the roof lining at the front got wet. I managed to fix it in minutes once we found out what was wrong. In my case the leak was on the left hand side and there is a drainage tube which goes from the sunroof down the B-pillar (behind the front door) and exits underneath. This tube had got trapped by the plastic trim inside the car which covers the pillar. The tube was squeezed and for 5 years it was OK. Then it got silted up with debris and the roof "overflowed" into the roof lining. I cleaned the tube out with a wire, flushed water through it, re-positioned it and it is fine now.
 
Well the garage seems to have fixed our.
I believe we had one new sunroof (middle) new glass in the front and back plus new seals. Plus a lot of re-sealing.
All seems to be cured now despite a few real downpours.
I'm fairly sure that none of the sunroofs have drainage pipes on them.
They only work if they seal perfectly. If they don't the inner gutters fill them slop about.
 
Well it's rained and the sunroof has leaked again after all the hard work that my garage have put in. I await a phone call with their thoughts of how to progress this.

Fiat technical team have now asked for a copy of a video that I took showing the leak. The manager at the garage has already seen it. I am copying onto a DVD for them as we speak. I will mention your post to Thames Fiat when I speak to them on Monday.
 
I had serious front sun roof leaks (water gushing down over nav wheel when driving off after downpour) this was cured after allowing the headlining to show up the tide marks - pointing at the leak...

Now 6 months later I have just seen more tidemarks in the back where the back ones are leaking !!!!

Dealers have just dropped the headlining and split the third pillar fairing in the process !!

Please.... take it back !!!!!!
