as the topic states I have a leak in my boot, it seems to be running down the sides by the light clusters and pooling in the wheel well, I did notice some small; drips on the plastic cover on the boot door, however i cant see anything after undoing the screws, no torrent of water all seems to be dry underneath, seems to be pooling on the bottom section of the seal and over flowing... any ideas of the best place to look? I have removed the plastic cover under the seal an that is all dry...so im confused as to where it may be comming in

My boot was leaking through the rubber gromit around the rear windscreen wiper mechanism. A bit of bathroom sealant sorted that out.

Does your car have the panaramic room? (The glass top).

nope, no sunroof or anything, its a bit odd that the carpet was damn on ether side of the rear arches, are there any drain holes in the wheel wells? I think it may be backing up after it runs down past the light clusters

but there must be something else as it was wet on both sides in the same place, was basically right in the corner near the boot door, im gonna have to take off the plastic cover on the lid and chuck water over it, see if i can fathom how its getting in, as its on both sides id say its less likely to be a drain hole?

well just a bit of an update, seems its leaking either trough the window, or the wiper seal as its running through the locking mech and down into the boot

any idea how you remve the cover on the boot?

I have removed the two bolts but it seems to be held in place further up

also I drove through like a 3ft pond today on my way home, and my exhaust is 100% blowing, could hear the bubbling, sounded like a had myself an outboard motor :D

The cover is a nightmare. Its held by about 8 clips on its reverse, and a couple of bolts. I'll have a nosey tomorrow to double check again though. If you break the clips on the reverse, PM me as i have spare, and your about £14 for a bag of 10 from Fiat.

Ideally, borrow a friend or relative to replace the cover, it turns into a bit of a faf with only one person.

Evening all ,

Just resurecting this thread , I have had the same problem over the last few months with my 2010 Sport , fair bit of water in spare wheel . I have checked rear wiper to glass seal , grommits behind rear lights and high level brake light and even sat in boot while my other half cover back end with water (I did keep key in my pocket just in case !) can't see any leakage. Then a few days later water is there !

any advice greatfully received , thanks
