Andy - either way its gonna get bigger. If you put in some stop liquid it may do the job, if it wont it will leak through with the cooling liquid and wont stop a thing.
It dosent matter if its cold or warm when it leaks - yes it is more under preasure during the hot weather, but there is no harm in trying.
The stop liquid can do up to 1,0mm holes - anithing bigger wont be blocked
As has been said, the propriety leak stoppers do work but i would not keep it as a permanent repair: Have a look round the scrappy, although i think under the new laws radiators have got to be drained so you would noy know if you were getting a good one or not
@Craig - the liquid bonds on the places where thers air - thats the priciple how it works.
You must have had air pockets that made it do that.
And BTW, I used it my 3 cars and on a bunch of mates cars with no problem
i know perfectly well how to bleed a cooling system
after a quick search on google, theres plenty said against it, one guy had his head gasket go and because of the radweld, it made the car an uneconomical repair.
as i said before, i'd never bodge my car, i'd much rather do a proper repair, which these days will mean a new radiator.
I have used radweld and other leak stoppers with no trouble at all. I've even used the white of an egg. does the same job. Needless to say only for small leaks.
