General Leaking diesel return pipe

Hi have tested my injectors by removing all 4 return pipe connections and found very little diesel came out of the injections but loads came out of the disconnected return pipe. Does anyone know where the return pipe connects to or comes from and does it have a non return valve or flap. Any help always gratefully taken cheers mark
