Hi everyone.

last night i popped out for a quick drive to the shops and while accelerating i was getting jolts of power loss. left the car in idle for a moment and it was really jumping. got the car back home and opened the bonnet and saw a load of bubbles and diesel coming out from one of the spark plugs where its screwed in.

Would this just be a case of a small rubber seal change ?

Thanks :)

yes sorry you are right, bit of a dumb moment, so under the glowplug where it is screwed in its bubbling like there is a seal broken and leaking air.

would that be the case or could it be more serious

Maybe Oil-seals holding the crank shaft may be damaged thus triggering oil leak in the head & block compartment !

The Valve Cover is a metal cover that is found on very top of the engine. The Valve Cover is attached to the engine by a gasket made of rubber or cork. The Valve Cover and gasket seal the top of the engine and prevent oil leaks. These Covers are removable so the mechanic can access the Valves for adjustment. Because of the high temperature of the engine, it is common for the valve cover gasket to get brittle and break. If the Gasket is worn out, it will leak engine oil and the top of the engine will be covered in oil.
Some common symptoms are :
Oil is leaking.
Debris and oil around the valve cover.
Slight oil smell.
Oil is found in spark plug wells.

Guess this solves the problem of your car engine oil leak !
