Last meet before the Xmas Bash

Since we've been fairly dotted around the country this year, I thought I'd put forward a few options for our last meet before the Xmas Weekender in November. Ideally, looking at something later in September/Early October.

We've just been to Edinburgh and the next official meet is Glasgow, so I'll rule both of those out. With that in mind I'm wondering about:

Aberdeen (for those willing to travel we could do something weekend-ish if budgets allow?)
Inverness (as above)
Tayside - Perth or Dundee. Obviously we lose Perth as the venue of the Xmas bash this year.

Open to suggestions, but I've also put a poll. Will put a week on this one so we can get planning sharpish.

Not too sure about Inverness, never been that far north (yet) but happy to travel to Aberdeen (work dependant).

Andi, if your wanting a GO! ape day, it'd have to be aberfoyle since the zip wire is 2nd longest in the UK.

This is a shout! could go via Aviemore ect. for the beautiful scenery too!! do feel a tad sorry for those coming from south though - our 'farm track roads' we call main roads take some getting used to haha

Possibly the most equidistant place for those in Scotland. Problem is that also means equally far away for all

It gets my vote thanks to the beautiful scenery and challenging roads but if the distance stops people who would normally attend from showing up then I say no.

However if they don't bother voting...

Is there enough interest to try Eilean Donan?

It does seem nice.

I'd need to spread it out over 2 - 3 days.

Day 1 Travel to Dundee or Aberdeen (Book into Premier Inn or Travelodge)

Day 2 Travel to Eilean Donan, then back to Aberdeen or Dundee for overnight stay

Day 3 Travel home

I'll try & get a look at the Holiday Diary tonight when I'm at work.

Andi...you'd manage it in a day/day in a half if you go up the A9....

Coming up the East Coast just makes it a much longer day.

I'll have to pass for Eilean Donan. Not keen on putting that much milage on the car as its on a PCP finance (14,000 pa). Why not somewhere around Pitlochry, grandtully or killin?
