Lack of power

Hi everyone,

I own a '99 Brava 105JTD. Recently I've noticed a loss of power, especially when going up hills. I was driving home up an uphill stretch tonight and it wouldn't go over 50mph, and that was with my foot to the floor. The car seems to surge forward a little at intervals, but then the power seems to lapse again.

Has anyone any idea what the problem might be? At first I thought I was just imagining it, but after tonight I think the problem is definitely there and is getting progressively worse.

Like the car pushed forward?
look at the fuel side of the car.
Air getting into diesel....pipe's or filter ?.
Or the fuel injection pump throttle lever leaking fuel
this may give you this prob.

plus look at the air filter is it clean.
A lot of smoke to fill the road up look at the turbo
