lol was ure mondeo an estate?
Nope, was a 2.0 4 door with the boot. Went like stink.

Might sound stupid, but a big anonymous barge like that goes bloody well, handled quite well, didn't get a second glance from plod / twoccers and was quite cheap to fix and insure.

just asked, on the estate version you have to drop some of the rear suspension to get back box off and out, the pipe kinda twists around it, if t was that i could understand.

You should know never to go near a tyre fitting house, unless you need tyres, get the main dealers to do the work, places like quick fit work on a bonus scheme, the more work the more money, so they rush jobs, OR they add parts to a job which arent needed etc you go for a wheel balance, they usually always tell you, your rear dampers are worn, or you need new pads and discs, or even ure exhaust is blowing (usually screwdriver jobbie through the base)

any who you pay more than u want, or they say theyve dont ure shocks u look closely and theyve only been cleaned, NEVER GO NEAR A QUICK FIT go to rapid fit instead :D

They are ignorant tossers too, I couldn't find Powerflow, so I stopped there to ask for directions, and they basically told me to get lost..

Kwik-Fit Nottingham (Daybrook Branch)

I've had no problems with Kwik Fit in Daybrook Notts. They've been very help full. Before they do any work, they'll put the car up on ramps and show me what needs doing, and then after the woprk is done, they'll show me what they've done and there always busy too, which must be a good thing.

Taking my Punto there tomorrow for a breaks check and new tyres.

I wondered how long it would take Tom Farmer to find this site!

Had a Mondeo a while back, rear silencer went. Took it in to them as they gave the best quote.
Exhaust was a Ford item, they claimed they couldn't fit their replacement one and I'd have to buy a full system - naturally AFTER they had hacksawed the old back boxes off. Asked why they couldn't simply sleeve it if it didn't match up, bloke came out with all sorts of excuses which made no sense.
Told him I wouldn't pay for a full system and they should have known it wouldn't go on, and that he should put the original box back on and I'd go elsewhere. Then he claims that sleeving is bad practice, they don't like to do it (wonder why...) and that it'd fall off / wouldn't last. Finally he says they don't want to sleeve it as they'd have to cut a length off a new section of plain straight pipe in the warehouse to do so.
Told the bloke that I wasn't at all interested in what stock he had to cut up and to do the job or return the car intact.

Fitter then sleeves new pipe to old, which was still sound when the car was flogged years later.

I have little faith in them.

Ah hindsight - a cruel thing. It seems as though my 'friendly' local rip-off kwik-fit conned me into getting a complete exhaust system a couple of weeks ago after my backbox fell off. The centre box was fine, but they told me it had to be replaced because it was the original pipe in one piece. I wouldnt have minded so much but the pattern zorst they stuck on is fekking awful and makes my Punto sound like a tractor.

Kwik-fit (n)

When i bought my duplex i wanted somewhere to fit it and went there :bang:

Becasue it wasnt a kwik fit part they wouldnt fit it.

I just told them that was fine if they didnt want to make a bit of money as i was happy to pay for the fitting

Is that a general practice in most exhaust places?
