Technical Knocking Sounds HELP!!! Plz

Hello,

Can anybody plz help me i have a Fiat Cinquecento SX P reg and for the past few weeks its started making knocking sound when im driving its defo comming from the back area. It happens when i go over little bumps in the road. I have now idea with cars, just wanted to know if anybody could help as a garage round by me wants 35 pounds just to have a look.

Does anyone have the trouble with there cinqs?

Almost certainly the rear suspension arm bushes.

No guide yet, but a search should turn everything up: lots of posts.

Important thing to remember is that FIAT will try to sell you a pair of new arms, which is very expensive.

You can get either polyurethane rear bushes (expensive, but longer lasting and easy to fit) or original ones (cheap, but need a hydraulic press to fit) (AFAIK, only Fluffy the Impaler on ClubCento does them).

The old ones can be pressed out (hydraulic press) or cut and burnt out.

Can you put the metal sleve out with out cutting it ?

Pratically, only with a press (and then it's way easier to take it somewhere with a press: most small engineering shops will have one).

Last time i took a honda arm with 2 bushes needed to press out and in.

It cost me £20 quid in a garage and i thought that was really pricey.

Next time i try a engineer shop
