Knocking from back end!!!

When going over a bump there is a metalic knocking noise coming from the rear (not all the time though!!). It sounds like the rear seat latch but i have already fixed that, rubber pipe and tape etc. Does anybody else have, or have had, a similar problem. Was thinking it might be the hatch lock, but again i have put tape on the rear hatch lock but it still does it!!
Any suggestions anyone

Check the lock on the boot, sometimes the bolts loosen them self. Or the noise is coming from your shocks.

get underneath the back of your car and wobble the backbox and see if it is knocking on the spare wheel well ive had the same problem on my hgt it was bugging the hell out of me its just a simple case of undoing the clamp further down and twisting it.

Might be exhaust related.
Mine used to do it on the way to work at the same mini island every day.
Then one day BANG my rear box dropped off and the noise stopped instantly.
Mmmmm.
Not an expert but the two might somehow of been connected.

New full exhaust on (its 1st since registration in 98) and no banging since.

Yeah, my back box was cleanly snapped away from the mid section but remains on, doesnt do any harm, will eventually work loose and fall off though. Replace with a full system, 230 ish from kwik-fit, or 200 for a sports one + fitting.

Can also be shocks aswell though, because the exact thing happened on a mates punto, which i firstly though was the culprit on mine before the mechanic looked at it.

Girlfriend in the back banging, trying to get out!! I think not, i've cut her
arms and legs off she can't damage anything!!!!!!! She might be rolling
about a bit though!!
