key wouldnt turn in ignition.

Hey everyone,

So I got into my Stilo last night and went to turn the key, only problem was that It didnt want to turn after sitting in the car trying to turn the key for a while I finally gave up :bang: went on a couple of forums and found out that if you have the steering on full lock it wont let you turn the key. Maybe this is something that everyone knows, or not, but managed to fix the problem by steering the wheel as hard as I could when on lock and then turning the key, worked a treat :worship:

Happened to Mrs Ffoxy too... turned into a tight parking slot, switched off & out with the key... then on return same as you. I had to go out to her at Asda... took quite a heave to get the steering into position with no electrical assistance.

From that day on she ALWAYS parked up with the steering in the straight ahead position & never had a repeat performance.

ive sort of got into that habit now. One other thing that may be of help s that if you pull on the wheel to the right whilst turning the key it sort of works 99% of the time. Im not sure if this is actually some sort of safety feature or if its just a pure pain in the ass. Suppose I should read my instruction manual lol :yum:
