I am thinking of buying a 2000 Brava.

My question is, I know that the new Puntos do not come with a brown/red key, but have a master remote central locking key (which can be replaced, if lost).

Were the 2000 Brava's still made with a brown/red key, or did they change also ??

The only reason I am asking is that every car I have been looking at has not had a master key with it "!"

Thanks

I second the above comment :)

Tommy K - Have you got the Bottle!!

Although they have a red key i don't actually remember anyone needing it.I have not got one and had no problems

That's like saying, "I don't know why I need Home Insurance, I've never claimed on it" and then getting burgled !

The Red Key is important as it stores all codes for the keys associated to your car. Lose the blue keys, and you will need the red key to get new ones. Without it, you will have a bill IRO £1000 to replace all locks.

You may never need it, but you don't have a crystal ball and is it worth taking that risk ?

To true Roberto. But I never had A red key and only 1 blue one. Had a clone cut and(touch wood) I hope the red key is never needed. Did I read That Joske disabled his imobiliser, therefore removing the need for the red key?

From othe replies I have read on other forums, there are now companies out there that can get you out of the sticky situation if a red key is required for the ecu, for a more moderate sum of £200.

It all depends on the model of the ecu, I have a Mk2 SX80, they cannot do mine
