key and ecu problems, HELP!

Hello everyone.I have had a nightmare and I need help.I bought a fiat Brava with only a blue key which I lost on christmas eve.I eventually found an auto locksmith who said that he could take out the ecu and code box, reset it and supply 3 new keys but with no red key.This has worked but now the engine management light will not stop flashing and he does not know why, he suggested taking out the bulb.This locksmith has been a nightmare and has taken 3 weeks to get this far. He has increased his price by 100 pounds and does not want to do anymore.He originally said that the car will be exactly like before.Before that the car was in the deales for 4 weks because it has been running rough but hey said that they cannotfind the problem, it also cuts out sometimes at low speed when I put my foot on the clutch.I have a fiat brava 1.6 2001 model.
