I'd be more tempted to find which suspension component had been damaged - i.e. bent strut/arm and replace that.

The way the camber is out does not indicate a deffective wishbone and the new shocks were put on after the accident so i,m lead to believe it is the stub axle/hub that connects the wheel that must be bent. Were only talking a few mm but enough to be incorrect. Speaking with my nephew, another mechanic today confirmed that we could correct this problem by enlarging the top mount hole slightly without any adverse affects to the suspension, but i will enquire in any case on how much these hubs or axles are.

Hiya! Got my B back from the tracking place this evening. Good news was that a second try with the camber bolts and he was able to obtain the correct camber alignment and no need to interfere with the shock.

The wheel has been repaired and she is driving as normal. (y):)

Hmm, that sounds like a terrible idea to me. Surely they'll be rusty again after a shower of rain? Not to mention the damage it could cause.

Beautiful car though KC, can't wait to see how this turbo mod turns out. Did you never condider dropping in a 5 cylinder, 20v turbo from the coupé instead? A bit late now, after all the work you've put in - but still an interesting idea.

The 5 cylinder is a lovely engine, but it's sodding massive. Has it been fitted to a Barchetta before?

If it's the Alfa 156 1.8 engine in ours (for all intents and purposes) would the Alfa 2.5 V6 fit in...?

I was sure someone had already fitted the coupé engine to a Barchetta... Am I mistaken?

I assume you mean the older generation v6? Not the Arese, as it certainly wouldn't fit. Don't know about the other one, I assume it's pretty damn big though.

I ve seen photos of it but i must admit i dont like the look of it... the engine bay looks funky..
I think its the 16v 4 cylinder one that fits into the barch, the five is too big.

The Coupe 16V turbo 4 pot engine fits in the Barchetta and has been done. You need to mod the engine mounts and have the drive shafts done but the engine goes in ok. The main problem is the coupe 16v turbo engine is getting on a bit now, you would need to rebuild the engine as finding a good one is just not going to happen these days.

Pictures below for you of a Barchetta with a Coupe 16v turbo engine fitted. Well almost fitted ;-)

Glad to hear the suspension is to your liking. I was amazed how much better it cornered afterwards.
