Technical K&N vs Standard Air Box

Developing induction kits is my daily business. I have not come accross any factory induction kit yet, where improvement was not possible. Presently I work on seven new kits for road cars, where one of them is considered as a real sports car and work on two race set-ups, which saw already quite an improvement. If you think you have a car that is standard so good that you can't improve on it noticeably, I invite you to bring it round. I am quite happy to be proven wrong.
please read my post.i said its dependent on how strangled the orignal is.by fitting a panel filter, thats enough for improvement.if you fit a kit to some engines,it makes them run very lean and causes power loss.i too work in the motor trade, and have seen cars with induction kits on where the engine is losing power.i bet you have too.all depends on so many things.:)

OK revival Time....

I removed my K&N Cone Filter and fitted the Old Airbox+K&N Panel Filter.

What I immediately noticed:

When slamming my foot to the floor that distinct growl has now gone :( also (Not sure if its psychological) but along with the disappearance of the growl the initial accelleration boost also went BUT My car Idles a lot better, when I put my foot down it just keeps on keeps on accellerating without appearing as though it wants to quit.

Haven't had a chance to challenge ASBO Polo 1.4GTi yet but I will do and I think I might 'av him this time :D

Will keep you all informed. A good air flow is the way to make your motor ASBO.
