Nice to meet ya! I just bought my first Fiat last week...2012 Abarth. And yeah, I don't know why dealers' websites have the build and price option because they act like you're being unreasonable when you say you want something that's not already on their lot. Bit annoying really....

Hi :) yeah it is annoying! This is my first ever brand new car, I hope the one I have now thats 11 years old will last a little bit longer!? Have you already got yours or are you having to wait because fiat have just made a comeback over that way recently haven't they?
 
Yup, I got mine last week. I wound up getting a new one they had on the lot. It was completely loaded and I didn't want to pay for all those options, but the salesman must have really wanted a sale because he kept coming back with a lower payment each time I said no. He was throwing in Fiat hats by the end. :D
I've never had a car this spiffy before...can't believe it's mine! :)

There's only 2 or 3 of the Fiat 500s in the town I live in, and only one other Abarth in the whole province, so I'm kind of the odd-man-out around here...guess I'm getting used to the stares. ;)
 
Just seen the exact same spec car as what I've ordered!! I love it! It's reassured me about the colour, as it's tue first time I've seen tech house grey in person!! It was a 12 plate too so I know it'll be exactly the same... I just want mine now :D
 
Rang the dealer for an update today. Made me all excited, he said "she should be wi ya by end of t'month" (yorkshire accent) I'm allowed to take the mick I speak like that too! :) He did say though that it showed the car was still on its boat but he said that 2 weeks ago :/ he thinks fiat haven't updated the system yet to show the updated status' :bang: So he said the car is most likely already here and should be with them end of this week, start of next. I CAN'T WAIT!


I seem to have found a reeaallyy nice dealer (lucky me) as its the first time i've rang for an update and he said the reason why is he doesn't like to ring customers up to tell them theres no change. Suppose that could be bad if it means somethings wrong with the order. And I liked the fact he called the car 'she' rather than 'it'.
This may just be a girl thing though? ;)

I work in shipping and a vessel is always called 'she'. An object of desire should be called a 'she'!

Yep I knew that (cousin is in the Navy and so is his wife).
He called the car she, said he likes to make them personal, apparently mine has gained the name lucy loo in the dealership (no idea!!) made me laugh though (y)

That's cute. :) That's actually what we call our youngest cat, Lucy Lou. Been trying to think of a name for my new wheels but I haven't been inspired yet. LOL

Hope you get her soon!

I was gonna call 'him' Salvador (because of their evil villain moustache) but I quite like Lucy Lou, it is a cute name :)

I hope I get her soon too! :D

The wait will be worth it and you'll enjoy. I am nearly 12 months with mine after downsizing from a Merc. and I still have a smile on my face when I drive the TA.:):D

Which dealer are you buying from?

Our Lounge we picked up 3 weeks ago is called Luigi, named by my 5 year old son after the 500 in Disney Cars!

Stoneacre in Doncaster, i've read mixed reviews about stoneacre, but everything so far has gone without a hitch so fingers crossed. I didn't realise there was a 500 in Cars. I've watched that film soo many times with the OH (were 19 & 22) sad I know :)

They have nearly everything sorted at the dealers now, just waiting for the car to arrive!! (y)
 
WOOHOO!!
Dealer called today to tell me Salvador is due with them on the 4th (next Wednesday) and I'm collecting on the 7th (Saturday), due to overtime at work :bang: (atleast it's extra money). I'm so excited the wait is nearly over!!
Now I get to annoy the other half by being pessimistic about his waiting time for his new Toyota GT86, as it's all he's done since I ordered in May! :D

Dealer called again today to confirm the car had arrived. His opening line on the phone was "what time are coming in today?", I was confused... but he said I could collect it today if I wanted, but i'm busy at work :bang: So, arranged pick up for 9am Saturday morning (y)

I am soooo jealous, mine was waiting in the dock just over a week ago! How long does it take to get here? I really can't wait any longer, I'm soooo excited!!!

It took about 2 weeks from being in docks to me picking it up this morning. It is really worth the wait I promise I can't stop smiling!!
