Hello.

With regards to your new van.
I am the owner of an X250 57 plate Ducato ( first ever new van )and if you read all the forums about the clutch / gearbox juddering and water ingress problems then I would think twice about buying a new van.
It seems quite expensive to be paying £14000 plus a deposit for an 07 van. Bear in mind that the warranty started when the van was registered.
But at the end of the day the decision is yours. Its your money.

Joiner, although this forum welcomes opinions it must be added that because you have had a bad experience with a ducato (or not happy with responses from Fiat UK) it doesn't mean 'deanorod' will have the same experience, hopefully. It must also be added that the majority of posts are by disgruntled owners, nobody posts about how well their vehicle is going.

Moderator,
I appreciate the point that you are making, and I apologise if I sound bitter.
As you say here doesn`t seem to be a lot of people praising the vehicles, but this would reflect life as whole.
My response to the gentlemans question was as I found the situation with my vehicle at present, but don`t get me wrong, when the problems are fixed then I will be quite willing to post a positive reply. More importantly I have no problems with the dealer who have been spot on up to now.
I bought a new Fiat van based on past experiance with second hand vans, but one does wonder where "progress" and technology is taking us!

Fair & welcome comments.

I oversee alot of ducatos (fleet contracts) and only problems I have came across is electric window switches and engine warning light on (EGR's) and as fleet vehicles believe me these vans get hammered;)

I'm not covering anything up infact would advise any potentia owner that before they take delivery of their van to ensure ALL recalls have been carried out. This will save the owner returning to the garage when the vehicle should be out on the road as these after all are work vans.

That reminds me need to update recall section!

great stuff.

Don`t want to cause any bad feeling.

But hay ho who does produce the perfect vehicle!!!

It's the motorhomes that appear to be suffering the most, the water leak repairs are more extensive on these than the standard van. As i'm aware any motorhome faults mst be reported to Fiat and they are to get repair priority but there are very few garages that can actually cater for vehicles of this size.
