I have used this site so many times to sort problems on my beloved Fiats but never been brave enough to join up - now the christmas brandy has finally worked so here I am!! I hope maybe I can help someone as much as you guys have all helped me. I have had loads of fiats over the last 8-9 years, mainly small petrol engines - Punto mk1, 2 mark 2's and a mark 2.5, seicento citymatic (disaster), sei sporting (broom yellow of course) and have now finally bankrupted myself on an 08 Bravo M-jet 120 Dynamic.
All was going great until 1800 miles when the usual Fiat 'character' manifested itself on the M6 when the EML came on and engine lost all power - turns out it was the narrow bore pipe from the inlet manifold to the wastegate sensor had not been clipped in properly and wore through on the engine block, hence confusing the sensor by giving a mismatch pressure reading! 2 mins with a stanley knife and a windscreen washer pipe connector and all is torquet and great again...
Anyway, I am sure my car is not the only one built during an espresso break in Turin so this may help others experiencing weird performance 'dips'. Sorry if this needs to be posteed elsewhere - if someone lets me know where I will copy it across! Cheers again...
